About Ogojo Jan

Ogojo Jan Chili Sauce is an additive-free, gluten-free and plant-based Japanse Chili Oil.

 

Our Story

In 2019, we held a fundraising event "Kids Marche" for Ohanashi Story Time.

We sold Japanese steamed buns, rice cakes, strawberry daifuku, handmade accessories, cotton candy, etc at the event. Ogojo Jan was hidden among the products. Our first thought was, "Will it sell?". We prepared 200 jars as a trial run, but they sold out quickly and thankfully, we received great reviews and we were asked "When will you sell them next?"

Then, we decided to make a chili oil that's healthier and anyone can enjoy! The days of recipe development continued. It took us a year of trial and error to find the right flavor. While digesting the many jars, we finally got at the ideal taste after involving our family and friends.

Our thought

We would like to connect Canadian people and society through Ogojo Jan. We would like to show what we are doing and who we are, using the product and also make the resource to support immigrant women.

We hope that lots of people will enjoy Ogojo Jan and learn about our activities for immigrant women through this product.

About our labels

We asked Vilku Vilka Crafts, who has always supported our activities by bringing her daughter to Ohanashi Story Time, and by opening a stall at Kids Marche. They come up with the beautiful design idea based on the Gods of Wind and Thunder in Japan, which fits the image perfectly!
